The Olympics.

I’ve decided to do a blog on the 2010 Winter Olympics.
My favorite athletes are Apolo Ohno, Julia Mancuso, Lindsey Vonn, Seth Wescot, Shani Davis, Shaun White, and Hannah Teter.
I like Apolo because he always pulls out in front.
I like Lindsey and Julia because they are really good downhill skiers.
I like Seth Wescot because he is a really good downhill snowboarder.
I like Shani Davies because he’s a really good speed skater.
I like Shaun White because he is a really good half piper and he invented a lot of cool tricks.
I like Hannah Teter because she is a really good half piper.
And I like all of those Americans because they are Americans and they are my favorites.

Kid pix.

Miss S came over yesterday and took some pictures of Thunder Bear, Booboo Bear, and me. We had a fun time with Miss S and she took some funny pictures and some cool ones too. The previous day was park day but it was too wet to go to the park, so Homeschool group came to my house. Miss S brought her photography equipment on park day in her van so she wouldn’t have to in her car.

On picture day we all helped to set up a big white sheet. First up was Booboo Bear, then it was Thunder Bear. I had a hard time keeping Booboo Bear out of the pix zone. Then it was my turn and Thunder Bear had a hard time with Booboo Bear. She took over 500 pix and downloaded them on to my mom’s laptop by using thumb drive , Then she went home.

The Super Super Bowl

I’ve seen other Super Bowls before but XLIV (44) was “who dat” (awesome). How the Saints pulled it off was “who dat”, too. The game changer was a Saints interception and 40 yard run leading to a touch down; it was awesome, too. I was going for the Saints.

My Dads friend Miss. Mary’s prediction was 31 Saints vs. 27 Colts; very close. It was 31 Saints vs. 17 Colts.

When The Who was singing at half-time, our good friend Mimi came over to say hi. My favorite song from The Who was "Who Are You", and dad and I were singing “who are you who who who who.” And the light show was very cool.

I made a lot of Saint signs and took my packers helmet and taped a Saints symbol on it.

My Packers helmet with Saint's symbol, Fleur de lis.

First Down poster with a hand on it

Four sheets of paper taped together with
"who dat" and "o-fence"

"D-fence" with fleur de lis as plus

The penalty flag

"Loss of" sign with bad luck symbol underneath

"Touchdown" with fleur de lis on the bottom

Fleur de lis and football

If you like football as much as I do then you should watch it.

My Weekend At Camp Kudzu

Over the weekend my family and I went to Diabetes camp, and (besides the walking and running) we had a heck of a time!

It took an hour and a half to get there. When we were ten minutes away we hit a Zaxbee’s for lunch. When we pulled out of the drive through and were on the road I wanted to eat my chicken sandwich but my stomach didn’t agree with me. I almost threw up, so I closed my eyes. I didn’t mean to go to sleep but I did.

Day 1: When we got to the camp, Dad pulled up to the nametag table in the roundabout, and Mom got out and went to the back seat (my side) and woke me up...on purpose. I said, “stop it, stop it, stop it”. When we got are nametags we went to our cabin and then I had my sandwich from earlier.

Then we went to the gym for a metaphoric welcome mat, along with 20 other families. Me and a couple other kids played a line /running game called Pacman, where two people are the squids and the other players are the pacmen. You have to play in a basketball court because you need connected lines. It’s ummmmmm…it’s like tag on lines.

Day 2: The first activity that the owls (that’s my age group’s name) did was we went canoeing! The second activity the owls did was puppetry. The instructor (Mr. Puppet Dude) told us about different puppets and where they came from and then he showed us how to make bat puppets. Then it was Drop-in time (a time for the families to do anything). It was break time for all the families. First my family went for a hayride (because we had signed up for it). It was fun until we got stuck in some mud; the load was very heavy. Then my family and I went mini golfing A.K.A Putt Putt. I got 5 holes’ in one in a row (holes 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19).

The next activity that the owls did was archery. My friend N came in first, my other friend B came in second, and I came in third. Then it was time for Drop-in time #2. So in that case we went to the tree house. It was awesome. They had an under side of the tree house, there was a tire swing and a trap door and a plaque with a famous poem called “Tree House” by Shel Silverstein, and a slide and telescope. Then Dad, BooBoo Bear, and I went rock wall climbing and I rang the bell at 40 feet in the air. Then Dad, BooBoo, and I went paddle boating and I steered and poor Dad was the engine.

Day 3: The last activity that the owls did was arts & crafts. We made Geckos and foam trees and necklaces and wooden fishes. It was awesome.

If you know someone with Type 1 Diabetes then you should tell them about Camp Kudzu.
