CAPTAIN A, FTW
So can y'all guess what I'm going as for Halloween...
The Captain of all things good... and I don't mean Popeye or Captain Crunch, I'm going as Captain America!!! And I'm in an adult sized costume!
So yesterday my dad took my brothers and me to Party City to get Halloween Costumes. I had planned to be the Grim Reaper this year, but I didn't find any Reapers that I liked, so I ended up choosing the next best thing. William had planned to be Luigi from the Super Mario Games, which ended up working perfectly for him. And Michael had planned to be Bane from the new Bat-Man movie but they didn't have Bane in stock, so he ended up being a Zombie called Rotten to the Core.
So that was basically my day.
Happy Halloween!!!
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

PIZZA!!! YEAH!!!
Today I went to Pizza Hut with my brothers, William and Michael, and my mom. There we ordered four personal sized pizzas: one for me, one for mom, and one for each of my brothers. Then before we left, mom ordered another personal pizza and some spicy wings for my dad. (Oh and did I mention that today is my mom and dad's anniversary? I'm pretty sure I didn't.)
After we left Pizza Hut, we went back home to drop off dad's pizza, then mom realized we needed to go to the library to drop off some books She realized the time and asked me to see if the library was open,
but my stupid phone didn't want to work so we ended up driving all the way over to Grayson (which is about a mile away), to find that the library was, indeed, closed. Derp. So we ended up driving back home from a useless drive to nowhere... yeah pointless huh?
So yeah thats pretty much my day, lame, delicious, and fun!

Day three as a photo journalist
Sorry I’ve been gone. It’s been raining…A LOT, so I wasn’t able to take any photos (my camera goes wacky in cold weather), so I’m officially making today day three.
Today I went to my local park for a session with S, and she gave me six rules for photography to work on for the week.
- First, THE ONE THIRD RULE. The rule of one third means to imagine a grid of nine squares on your view finder and set your subject in one of the four corners of the center square at a low angle.
- Second, NO FLASH. No flash means, well, no flash (hahaha). If your camera is not working well in the dim light, see the fifth rule.
- Third, SET YOUR CAMERA FUNCTION TO A.V. If your function is set to auto (which it probably is), set it to A.V. On my camera, I simply turn the dial on the top of my camera.
- Fourth, DON’T ZOOM. Don’t zoom is self explanatory; if your subject is too far away, move closer.
- Fifth, SET ISO TO 100. Set ISO to 100 means, if the light is good set the ISO to 100. If the light is dim set the ISO to 200. On my camera to change the ISO I press the ISO button to the right of the view screen and scroll to the ISO I require.
- Sixth, KEEP THE F DOWN ALL THE WAY. That means set the aperture. On my camera this is how I do it: I simply scroll the dial on the back of my camera until the F is at 2.8. And, Bingo.
These are some of the pictures I took.
So that’s what I learned today I hope you’ve found this useful.
ZakGoesSolo Out…PEACE.

day two of my life as a photo journalist
So when I got pictures of Bucky (below)... I got so close that if I had reached out my hand I could have touched him. That’s probably because I was on my stomach.
Bucky Has Found His Food.
Bucky Is Looking At Me.
Bucky Is Looking At My Neighbor.
While I was in my back yard looking for squirrels a cardinal landed on my hand and pecked the rubber on my camera... I couldn't get a photo… bummer...
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. See you tomorrow

day one of my life as a photo journalist
I would rather be a photo journalist than a painter or just a photographer because it lets me express myself with art, writing, and photos, (without all the hard work of telling people to “STAY THE C%@P STILL!!!!!!”over and over again as I paint their portrait).
Today I sat down with my education mentor and we talked about what I wanted to do and I explained why I wanted to be a photo journalist and the skills I need and we decided on my first project, SQUIRRELS. I am going to be using this blog to document my SQUIRREL!!!... Project, and my progress learning about photo journalism.
Today was my first day developing my love for photo journalism <3
My plan was to go in my back yard and watch squirrels in their natural habitat, and so that’s what I did. I sat in my back yard watching…(wait for it) NOTHING!!! I didn’t see anything., Nope not one stinking squirrel >=( but I did take pictures of their nests. ->
Later I went to the front yard and actually found some squirrels FINALLY! =)
And finally my education mentor and I down loaded the pix I shot, cropped, and finally I posted them on this blog.
